We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Financial Planner who is passionate about translating financial data into actionable insights and drive profitability and cost management topics for Julius Baer’s private banking business in Switzerland & EMEA.
You will be joining a dynamic and experienced team of Finance experts who act as sparring partners to the regional senior management, supporting them in achieving their objectives and anticipating trends in the financial performance at an early stage.
In this challenging and exciting role, you will be part of the CFO Switzerland & EMEA and Intermediaries team, and report to the Head of Financial Controlling & Planning.

YOUR CHALLENGE

  • Take a key role in the financial planning and performance management processes encompassing more than half of the Bank’s global business (incl. budgeting, forecasting, modeling and scenario analysis)

  • Prepare systematic analyses and build quantitative models that help translate financial data into actionable insights in a hands-on manner while having the understanding for the broader picture on how different drivers influence revenues, costs and balance sheet of the region

  • Drive strategic finance topics / initiatives to support the CFO of Switzerland & EMEA and Intermediaries in achieving the Region’s financial objectives

  • Act as a sparring partner to the Front in the context of Finance topics, with direct exposure to senior management and key stakeholders across the bank

  • Design and enhance management reporting for performance steering and actively support future development of the revenue and cost management framework for the region

  • Develop tools focusing on further automatization and more flexible & timely use of data

  • Conduct quantitative analyses and business case assessments on a regular basis and prepare presentations for senior management

YOUR PROFILE

  • Strong academic record: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Econometrics or comparable field of study with above-average grades

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a comparable finance or related function within banking or financial industry

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the (Private) Banking business and global financial markets

  • Profound knowledge in financial management processes such as controlling, reporting, budgeting and forecasting

  • Capital / balance sheet management knowledge is a plus

  • Outstanding analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills with a strong affinity to quantitative modelling

  • Excellent Excel and data handling skills

  • Programming skills (e.g. VBA/Python/SQL/R) as well as data visualization / business intelligence tools knowledge (e.g. Tableau/Power BI) is a great advantage

  • Advanced PowerPoint skills and an affinity for automation of presentation content in connection with data updates

  • Strong personal drive with good organizational and multi-tasking skills as well as ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multiple senior stakeholders

  • Independent, pro-active, efficient and meticulous work method with a results-oriented mindset

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written), German is a plus
